Pakistan’s Army Chief Visits Azerbaijan to Strengthen Defense Cooperation

RAWALPINDI: Pakistan’s Army Chief General Syed Asim Munir is currently on an official visit to the Republic of Azerbaijan, said a military statement issued on Wednesday. 

The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the media wing of the Pakistan Army, stated that the objective of the Chief of Army Staff visit is to strengthen military-to-military cooperation and defense collaboration between the two countries.

During his visit, the Army Chief held meetings with several high-ranking officials, including Ilham Aliyev, the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Defense Minister, the 1st Deputy Minister, the Chief of General Staff, and the Commander of the Azerbaijan Air Force.

Pakistan’s Army Chief Calls for Enhancing Defense Cooperation

In these meetings, General Asim Munir emphasized the importance of enhancing cooperation in the areas of defense and training. COAS also commended the Azerbaijani Armed Forces for their exceptional operational readiness and high morale.

The political and military leadership of Azerbaijan expressed their gratitude for Pakistan’s ongoing support and commitment to further enhancing mutual cooperation between the two countries and their Armed Forces.

During his visit to the General Staff Headquarters, COAS received a warm welcome and a Guard of Honour. He also paid his respects by laying a floral wreath at the Alley of Martyrs in Baku.
