Pakistan’s Army Chief Vows to Defeat ‘Frenemies’ with Nation’s Resilience

RAWALPINDI: Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir on Saturday issued a strong warning to those acting as terrorist proxies for foreign elements and said that such “frenemies” will be defeated by the resilience of the Pakistani nation and its armed forces.

During a visit to Balochistan on Saturday, the army chief reiterated the military’s unwavering commitment to eliminating terrorism and safeguarding the country’s sovereignty.

“Those who are acting as terrorist proxies of their foreign masters who have mastered the art of manifesting double standards of hunting with the hound and running with the hare are well known to us,” the COAS maintained as quoted by the country’s military media wing, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

The Army Chief said, “No matter what these so-called frenemies may do, you will surely be defeated by the resilience of our proud nation and armed forces of the country.”

“For the defence of our motherland and its people, we will definitely retaliate and ‘hunt you down’, whenever required and wherever you may be,” the COAS said as quoted by ISPR.

During the visit to Balochistan, the Army Chief was given a comprehensive brief on the prevailing security situation in the province. The briefing was also attended by senior security and intelligence officials, ISPR said in a press release.

The COAS, Governor and Chief Minister of Balochistan offered funeral prayers of the martyrs and also visited the injured soldiers in the Combined Military Hospital in Quetta. They appreciated the soldiers’ unwavering commitment to defending the country at all costs.

The COAS also appreciated the efforts of the valiant officers and soldiers of the Army, Frontier Corps and Law Enforcement Agencies for their courage and determination towards fighting terrorism.

General Asim Munir reassured Pakistan Army’s resolve to ensuring the security and well-being of the people of Balochistan, while also reaffirming commitment to supporting the provincial government in its efforts to promote peace, stability, and development in the region.
