Pakistan’s Babar Azam Retains Top Position in ICC ODI Rankings

DUBAI: Pakistan’s former captain and batting maestro Babar Azam maintained his place at the top of the latest ODI rankings in batting issued by the International Cricket Council (ICC) on Wednesday. According to the fresh ranking, the cover drive specialist is still far ahead of the second and third numbers by over 20 points.  

Occupying the top slot with 824 points, the former Pakistan skipper is followed by India trio Shubman Gill with 801 points, Virat Kohli (third) with 768, Rohit Sharma (fourth) with 746, and New Zealand’s Daryl Mitchell in 5th slot with 728 points.

ICC ODI Rankins for Bowling

As far as the ranking of pacers and spinners is concerned, South African Keshav Maharaj occupies the top slot with 716 points, followed by Australian Josh Hazlewood with 688 points. 

Spinner Adam Zampa improved one step ahead to capture the third place in the ODI rankings for bowlers. Meanwhile, Australian All-rounder Sean Abbott managed to witness a significant improvement while jumping 52 places to reach the 18th spot, whereas Shakib-ul-Hassa from Bangladesh occupied the top slot in the all-rounder category with 310 points, followed by Muhammad Nabi from Afghanistan with 297 points.
