ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s cabinet has approved amendments to the Special Professional Pay Scales Policy 2019, eliminating the age limit for key appointments and extensions up to the age of 65.

According to insiders familiar with the matter, this decision was reached during a recent cabinet session, where a proposal outlining the changes was circulated and subsequently endorsed.

This marks a departure from previous policies under the PTI regime, signaling a strategic shift towards enhancing governance effectiveness by attracting skilled individuals, technical experts, and consultants.

Under the updated policy, individuals appointed to pivotal roles can anticipate salaries of up to Rs20 lacs per month, creating opportunities for highly qualified professionals to contribute to federal administration.
