Earlier, Information Minister Atta Tarar emphasized credible evidence supporting the PTI ban, citing issues such as foreign funding, the May 9 incident, allegations of aiding terrorist resettlement, the cipher controversy, and resolutions passed in the United States.

Atta Tarar underscored Article 17 of the constitution empowering the federal government to enforce such bans on political parties. He also mentioned plans to initiate Article 6 proceedings against former Prime Minister Arif Alvi, former Prime Minister Imran Khan, and deputy speaker of National Assembly Qasim Suri for constitutional violations during the dissolution of assemblies following a no-confidence motion against the then-prime minister.
