Pakistan’s Cement Exports Records 36 % Increase

ISLAMABAD: Cement exports experienced a significant surge, with a 35.92% increase during the initial ten months of the 2023-24 fiscal year compared to the corresponding period last year, reported by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS).
In monetary terms, exports totaled US $204.546 million from July to April (2023-24), marking a substantial rise from the US $150.488 million recorded during the same period in the previous fiscal year.
In volume, cement exports also saw a remarkable escalation of 63.51%, soaring from 3,242,161 metric tons to 5,301,161 metric tons, as per the provided data.
Furthermore, on a year-on-year basis, cement exports in April 2024 surged by 66.61% compared to April of the preceding year. Exports for April 2024 reached US $25.074 million, a significant increase from US $15.049 million in April 2023.
In addition, there was a notable month-on-month increase of 61.02% in cement exports during April 2024 compared to March 2024, as revealed by PBS data, with exports climbing from US $15.572 million in March to US $25.074 million in April.
