Pakistan’s Communications Minister to Attend International Conference in Tajikistan

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Federal Minister for Communications, Privatization and Investment Board Abdul Aleem Khan will visit Tajikistan to represent his country in a 2-Day International Regional Conference under “Road to Tien Shan”.

In addition to Pakistan, China, India, Armenia, Iran, Turkiye, and Azerbaijan will participate in the international conference on May 29 and 30, while the heads of important international financial and investment institutions will also attend.

Abdul Aleem Khan is participating in the conference at the invitation of Tajikistan’s Transport Minister Azim Ibrahim.

The conference is being held under the agreement between the Central Asian nations signed on September 24, 2023.

At the conference, a grand charter will be created for the construction of roads among different countries and access to ports through trade routes, in which Pakistan will have a key role.

Pakistan’s Role in Regional Connectivity

Talking in this regard, Abdul Aleem Khan said that Pakistan is already working on the road network from Afghanistan and China to Tajikistan and in future it will also build roads for connectivity to Central Asian countries.

He said that the construction of new highways will provide access to ports and corridors for commercial markets while such international projects will lead to global cooperation besides promoting trade from Pakistan and this will also bring new opportunities for investment in the country.

He added that Pakistan is facing the challenge of stability of the economy, while in the current situation connecting with other countries through roads can be a milestone.
