ISLAMABAD: As the world observes the International Day of Women in Diplomacy on Monday, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar expressed his appreciation for the contributions of Pakistani women in the field of diplomacy. The United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) declared June 24th each year as the International Day of Women in Diplomacy during its 76th Session.
In a message shared on his X timeline, Deputy Prime Minister Dar highlighted the significant impact Pakistani women have had in diplomacy throughout the nation’s history. He honored notable figures such as Begum Raana Liaquat Ali Khan, Madam Shaista Ikramullah, and Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto for breaking barriers and paving the way for future generations of women diplomats.
