Pakistan’s Deputy PM Terms Renewable Energy as Key Priority Sector

BEIJING: Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammed Ishaq Dar has termed renewable energy as one of the priority sectors identified by Pakistan along with the incentives offered to international investors in this regard.

The Deputy Prime Minister was talking to the Executive Vice President of China Three Gorges Corporation and Chairman of China Three Gorges International Limited Wu Shengliang in Beijing on Tuesday.

Ishaq Dar lauded the renewable energy projects of China Three Gorges Corporation in Pakistan, including in Karot and Jhimpir that serve as model projects.
The Deputy Prime Minister also highlighted the Government of Pakistan’s reform agenda and shared an overview of the opportunities for Foreign Direct Investment especially in infrastructure development and renewable energy sectors.

China Three Gorges Corporation Vice President expressed his determination to expedite the completion of the in-progress projects like Kohala and Mahl Hydro Power Projects, in Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
