Pakistan’s Envoy Visits Victims of Oman Mosque Attack

MUSCAT: Pakistan’s Ambassador to Oman, Imran Ali, visited victims of a terrorist attack at an Imam Bargah in Muscat, the capital of Oman.

The attack at the Imam Ali Mosque in Wadi Al Kabir left at least four worshippers dead and several others injured, including Pakistanis.

Ambassador Imran Ali visited three hospitals and met with affected Pakistani families. He is the only Ambassador who visited patients although casualties were from India, Bangladesh and Oman as well.

Furthermore, the Embassy of Pakistan in Oman has established an Emergency Response Centre and is in contact with patients and their families.

A terrorist attack on July 15 targeted the Imam Bargah Ali bin Abu Talib in Wadi Kabir, where worshippers were taken hostage and several casualties were reported, the Royal Oman Police confirmed in a brief statement.

Responding to the incident, the country’s police cordoned off the area, conducted evacuations, and launched operations.

Four deaths have been confirmed in the shooting, and efforts are underway to determine the identities of the victims.
