BEIJING:  Pakistan’s recent general elections were conducted fairly, smoothly, securely, and successfully, truly reflecting the will of the people. This was said by Cheng Xizhong, a Visiting Professor at the Southwest University of Political Science and Law of China.

He emphasized the effective measures taken by Pakistani security forces to prevent any disruptions by external elements.

Cheng dismissed external accusations of election irregularities as unfounded, groundless, and interference in Pakistan’s internal affairs, contrary to the principles of the United Nations Charter.

He expressed optimism about Pakistan’s post-election prospects, anticipating political stability, economic growth, and improved living standards for its citizens.

Highlighting the maturity of Pakistan’s political parties, Cheng stressed the importance of prioritizing the people’s interests over partisan agendas. He discouraged any street movements that could undermine the country’s progress, advocating instead for unity among all parties to build a better Pakistan.

As a steadfast ally, Cheng reiterated China’s desire to see Pakistan flourish economically and politically. He urged ruling and opposition parties to prioritize cooperation over confrontation, aligning with democratic principles of consultation and unity for the nation’s benefit.
