Pakistan’s Finance Minister Claims Upcoming Budget Will be Business-Friendly

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue, Ishaq Dar, has said that the incumbent government was all set to present a business-friendly budget in order to support the masses and provide a push to the economic growth in the country.

Ishaq Dar said this while talking to a delegation of the Association of Builders and Developers of Pakistan (ABAD) that called on the minister.

The minister hailed the proposals presented by the delegation regarding the construction sector and assured them the federal government was taking concrete measures to overcome the ongoing economic challenges and would try its best to strengthen and boost economy of the country.

Among others, the meeting was attended by Chairman FBR, Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Revenue, Tariq Mehmood Pasha, Chairman RRMC, Ashfaq Yousif Tola, and other officials.

Earlier, members of the delegation apprised the minister of the challenges being faced by the construction industry and also shared their proposals for the upcoming fiscal Budget to be presented on June 9.

The delegation assured the government to provide its support and input in its efforts to overcome the economic challenges and to enhance business and economic activities in Pakistan.

Pakistan’s Upcoming Fiscal Budget

In another interview with a private television channel on Sunday, the minister had almost the same claim and stated that the government would do its best to have an investor-friendly budget. The Remarks of the finance minister had an optimistic effect on the stock exchange, as the 100-index turned around and gained over 370 points on Monday.

However, economy experts are of the view that the country is witnessing one of the most challenging eras, and the government would require a dedicated commitment to overcome these challenges.
