Pakistan’s Finance Minister Pledges Support for Private Sector

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb on Wednesday pledged to support the private sector.

A delegation of representatives from the Aerated Beverage Industry, led by President of Lotte Akhtar Beverages Ghazi Akhtar, called on the minister in Islamabad. Turkish Ambassador to Pakistan Dr. Mehmet Pacaci also joined the meeting.

During the meeting, the delegation expressed their appreciation for the government’s economic initiatives and said that they are encouraged by the supportive policies of the government.

Delegation Presents Tax Proposals to Finance Minister

The delegation presented several tax proposals for the upcoming financial year, suggesting adjustments to the Federal Excise Duty (FED) that could support their industry growth and contribute to the government’s tax collection efforts.

On the occasion, Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb underlined the government’s commitment to support the private sector.

The minister assured the delegation that the government would proceed with strategic intent and within the available fiscal space.
