KARACHI: First Lady Samina Alvi said on Tuesday that the role of teachers is vital in the development of society.
Addressing at
Teachers Appreciation Day, a ceremony held by Behbud Girls College and Higher Secondary School at Behbud Association Karachi, the First Lady said that the teacher’s appreciation was vital.
She said that the teachers were the backbone of the school. They work very hard for the better future of the students.
Samina said that teachers should be encouraged for the better education of the students.
First Lady Highlights Challenge to Education
She highlighted the challenge of the low literacy rate in Pakistan, saying that the literacy rate of females was low as compared to that of men in the country.
The First Lady said that President Dr Arif Alvi was working on education. More than two hundred million children were out of school in Pakistan, she lamented.
Samina Alvi said that we had to work together as the father of the nation, Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, had also emphasized the provision of education to girls.
She said that the education system in the country should be reviewed. We should focus on the values and character-building of the children.
