Pakistan’s FM Emphasizes Youth Empowerment to Tackle Climate Change Challenge

LONDON: Pakistan’s Caretaker Minister for Foreign Affairs, Jalil Abbas Jilani, on Wednesday emphasized the need to empower youth of the Commonwealth countries to tackle the challenge of climate change.

Foreign Minister Jilani, while chairing a meeting on climate change under the tenth Commonwealth Youth Ministerial Conference, said the Commonwealth countries should learn from the experiences of the Climate Change Program.

The meeting underlined the important role of the youth in overcoming the climate change challenge.

Pakistan Faces Climate Change’s Catastrophic Impacts

Jilani said that Pakistan was among a few nations facing the catastrophic impacts of climate change.

He also appealed to the Commonwealth countries to put in their concerted efforts to deal with the climate change impacts.
