Pakistan’s Government Resolves to Address Energy Sector’s Issues

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Federal Finance Minister, Senator Ishaq Dar, has said that the government prioritized resolving the energy sector’s issues of circular debt to bring financial sustainability to the sector and power the country’s economic growth.

According to a press release on Saturday, the mister said this while chairing a meeting on reforms in the energy’s sector. He directed the concerned authorities to make workable solutions for resolving all issues in the energy sector, said a press release issued by the Ministry of Finance.

The meeting also highlighted introducing various reforms in the energy and problems of stock and flow of circular debt faced by the sector.

The finance minister stressed the importance of reforms in the energy sector, adding that introducing reforms was vital for the country’s economic growth and stability.

State Minister for Finance and Revenue Dr. Ayesha Ghous Pasha, State Minister for Petroleum Musadik Masood Malik, Special Advisor to the PM on Finance Tariq Bajwa, Secretary Finance, Secretary Power, and other senior officers attended the meeting.
