ISLAMABAD: The caretaker government of Pakistan on Tuesday has announced to maintain the current prices of petrol and high-speed diesel (HSD) for the next fortnight, local media reported on Tuesday.
The Ministry of Finance issued a notification in this regard and stated that the prices of petrol and high-speed diesel (HSD) will remain Rs283.38 and Rs303.18 per litre, respectively.

Similarly, the prices of kerosene oil and light-diesel oil were decreased by Rs3.82 and Rs3.4 per litre, respectively, to Rs 211.03 and Rs189.46 per litre.
As per media report, this was mainly due to the Pakistani currency’s gain of almost Rs3 against the dollar over the last fortnight, while the average price of diesel has reduced by around $1.3 per barrel.
Earlier, on October 16, the interim government had also slashed the price of petrol by Rs40 per litre and that HSD by Rs15 per litre.
