ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar on Sunday said negotiations and dialogue must be encouraged to address all the problems that lie in politics.

He made the remarks in response to a news conference by Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazal (JUI-F) Chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman.

He said the Parliament serves as the right forum for political discourse in the current context. The Minister asked Maulana Fazlur Rehman to acknowledge the government’s economic strategies, which have boosted foreign exchange reserves and propelled the stock exchange to new records.

Attahullah Tarar lauded the government’s efforts in strengthening the national currency and significantly reducing the deficit of trade.

Earlier, Maulana Fazlur Rehman had criticized the government for addressing concerns of the JUI-F. He said that the government was not flexible enough to resolve the JUI-F’s grievances adding that the Central Majlis Shura had decided to independently continue its struggle.
