ISLAMABAD: Pakistani Minister for Kashmir Affairs, Gilgit-Baltistan, and State & Frontier Regions (SAFRON), Engineer Amir Muqam, chaired a meeting on Thursday to review preparations for Kashmir Black Day on October 27.
In his statement, the minister emphasized that Pakistanis have conveyed a clear message to the world that the people of Kashmir hold a special place in their hearts. He firmly asserted that India’s oppressive occupation of Kashmir has been rejected by the Kashmiri people.
He called for an all-parties conference on Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) to pressure India to halt its brutal actions against innocent Kashmiris.
Amir Muqam reaffirmed Pakistan’s steadfast support for its Kashmiri brothers and sisters, stating it is a national duty to keep the Kashmir issue alive until independence. He reiterated that Pakistan would continue to provide political, moral, and diplomatic support to Kashmiris until they achieve their right to self-determination as outlined in United Nations Security Council (UNSC) resolutions.
During the meeting, federal ministries, representatives from Gilgit-Baltistan, and the Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) government briefed the minister on the arrangements for Kashmir Black Day.
Ghulam Muhammad Safi, Convener of the All-Party Hurriyat Conference, commended the expression of solidarity with the Kashmiri people and praised the current government’s efforts under Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, who consistently highlights the Kashmir issue on international platforms.
Safi concluded by stating that representatives of the All-Party Hurriyat Conference would actively participate in rallies for Kashmir Black Day across the country and in Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
