Pakistan’s Moon Sighting Committee Meeting on Tuesday to Sight Shawwal Moon

ISLAMABAD: The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee meeting is scheduled for Tuesday to determine the sighting of Shawwal moon at the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony.

Headed by Maulana Syed Muhammad Abdul Khabir Azad, the meeting will witness the attendance of esteemed members from different institutions, including the Ministry of Science and Technology, Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (SUPARCO), and Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD).

Among the notable attendees will be Director General Syed Mushahid Hussain Khalid, along with noted figures such as Mufti Fazl Jamil Rizvi, Allama Muhammad Dr. Hussain Akbar, and Maulana Muhammad Yasin Zafar, among others. Zonal members from Islamabad, Karachi, Quetta, Lahore, and Peshawar will also contribute to the deliberations.

Public Encouraged to Sight Shawwal Moon

Emphasizing the significance of public involvement, Maulana Azad encouraged citizens to actively engage in moon sighting efforts for Shawwal. People are urged to report any sightings to designated contact numbers: Director General Religious Affairs (0300-6831822), Chairman (0321-9410041/0333-9100619), and the Office of Director Religious Affairs (051-9201425).
