ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz on Monday assured the Turkish envoy of the country’s full support for the quake victims.
During his visit to the Turkiye Embassy in Islamabad, PM Shehbaz said Turkiye supported Pakistan during its deadliest earthquake of October 8, 2005.
The prime minister said that the Pakistani nation was grieving over the loss of thousands of precious lives in Turkiye.
Talking to the Turkish envoy, PM Shehbaz said Pakistan would continue to support the Turkish brethren till the complete rehabilitation of the quake victims.
Pakistan to continue sending aid supplies for quake victims
Sharing an update regarding aid supplies sent to Turkiye, the prime minister said Pakistan has been taking emergency steps to support the earthquake victims, and relief goods continued to be sent to Ankara for Turkish brothers and sisters.
Earlier, Turkish Ambassador Dr. Mehmet Paçacı attended a coordination meeting hosted by the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) Chairman Lieutenant General Inam Haider, which was also attended by Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal.
The relief aid for Turkiye was discussed during the meeting.
