ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Wednesday expressed deep sorrow over the tragic death of Saulos Chilima, the Vice President of Malawi, in a plane crash.
He extended his condolences to the government and people of Malawi during this difficult time and sympathized with Chilima’s bereaved family.
Saulos Chilima, along with nine other passengers, was killed in the crash, Malawi’s President Lazarus Chakwera announced in an address to the nation.
The aircraft had gone missing after it failed to land at Mzuzu International Airport, located about 380 kilometers north of the capital, Lilongwe.
“The wreckage of the plane has been located,” President Chakwera confirmed.
