KUWAIT CITY: Pakistan’s Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar, held extensive talks with Sheikh Talal Al-Khaled Al-Ahmad Al Sabah, the First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Interior of Kuwait, on Wednesday and discussed expanding bilateral trades. Pakistan’s Army Chief General Syed Asim Munir was also present on the occasion.
During the meeting, they highlighted the historical brotherly ties between Pakistan and Kuwait. Both sides expressed their mutual commitment to elevating these connections into a fruitful economic partnership.
During the meeting, seven agreements were signed with the aim of attracting multi-billion-dollar investments from Kuwait into various sectors of Pakistan. These sectors include Food Security/Agriculture, Hydel Power, Water Supplies (ensuring safe drinking water and supporting mining activities), the establishment of a Mining Fund to bolster the mineral industry, Technology Zones Development, and Mangrove Preservation.
MoUs Between Pakistan and Kuwait
Moreover, three Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) in the fields of culture & art, environment & sustainable development were also formalized.
The leaders voiced their satisfaction with the current trajectory of relations, pledging to maintain close communication and swiftly advance steps to further fortify Pakistan-Kuwait ties.
The Prime Minister of Pakistan hailed these agreements with Kuwait as yet another milestone achieved through the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) platform.
Concluding the meeting, the Prime Minister extended prayers for the good health of Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, The Emir of the State of Kuwait.
