Pakistan’s PM, Qatari Emir Exchange Eid Greetings, Discuss Bilateral Ties

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif held a cordial telephonic conversation with the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, on Tuesday, extending warm greetings on the occasion of Eid ul Fitr.

During the conversation, Prime Minister Shehbaz underscored the enduring fraternal ties between Pakistan and Qatar, emphasizing Pakistan’s commitment to fostering robust cooperation across various domains of mutual interest. He reiterated the Pakistani government’s steadfast determination to strengthen economic and trade relations between the two nations, aiming to deepen bilateral ties further.

The Emir of Qatar reciprocated the Eid greetings warmly and conveyed his sincere best wishes to the people of Pakistan. Expressing his appreciation for the invitation extended by Prime Minister Shehbaz, the Emir expressed his eagerness to undertake an official visit to Pakistan in the near future, reflecting the mutual desire to fortify bilateral relations.

Both leaders affirmed their shared commitment to fostering closer collaboration and expanding cooperation across diverse sectors, aiming to enhance mutual benefits and bolster bilateral ties. The conversation served as a reaffirmation of the enduring friendship between Pakistan and Qatar, which marked the significant milestone of the 50th Anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two nations last year.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif later took to social media platform X to convey additional details of the conversation, highlighting the shared prayers for the unity of the Muslim Ummah and the prosperity of both Pakistan and Qatar. Additionally, both leaders expressed their resolve to deepen and solidify the existing bonds of friendship and cooperation between their respective countries.
