Pakistan’s PM Shehbaz Sharif Orders to Replace Chitral’s Outdated Power Grid with Modern System

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has ordered power division to replace the outdated power grid of Chitral with modern infrastructure in order to ensure uninterrupted electricity to the residents of Chitral.

The Prime Minister directed the Ministry of Power on Friday to collaborate with Pakhtunkhwa Energy Development Board and devise a well-prepared strategy in this regard. He was chairing a high-level meeting to address the issues regarding power supply problems in Chitral. The Prime Minister also directed Minister for Power Khurram Dastagir Khan, and the Secretary Power Division to submit a detailed report in this regard.

PM orders reduction in power load shedding

Shehbaz Sharif also emphasized taking prompt measures to reduce power load-shedding in the district of Chitral while adding that ensuring facilities to the people of far-flung and underprivileged areas in the country was the top priority of the government.

The residents of Chitral appreciated efforts of the prime minister for tackling problems of load-shedding and infrastructure in Chitral.

They thanked Shehbaz Sharif for his personal interest in the relief and rehabilitation of the flood-affected people in the district. Meanwhile, prime minister Shehbaz Sharif also directed the authorities concerned to submit him a report on the compensation amount disbursed among the flood-hit people.
