RISALPUR: Pakistan’s Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar said on Tuesday that regional peace hinges on the resolution of the Jammu and Kashmir dispute between Pakistan and India.
Addressing the officers’ graduation ceremony at the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) Academy Asghar Khan in Risalpur, the premier said, “Let me make it clear that there can be no peace without the settlement of the Jammu and Kashmir issue.”
The prime minister declared Pakistan a peace-loving nation desiring friendly relations with all countries, particularly its neighbours. He, however, said that Pakistan’s desire for peace should not be perceived as a weakness.
Prime Minister condemned the severe human rights situation in occupied Kashmir and affirmed that Pakistan would not engage in any arms race but would enhance its capabilities in line with evolving technology to deter aggression.
He highlighted the profound impact of the rapidly changing geo-strategic environment on Pakistan and the region, stating, “Therefore, the situation demands advancements in space networks, cyber technology, nano-technology, and artificial intelligence.”

Pakistan’s Desires for Peace Not a Sign of Weakness
Expressing satisfaction with the PAF’s modernization efforts through smart induction of cutting-edge technology, PM Kakar acknowledged the achievements in cyberspace and non-contact warfare through indigenous means.
PM Kakar praised the professionalism and training of Pakistan’s armed forces, noting their competence in coping with internal and external challenges.
Congratulating the graduating cadets, the prime minister expressed confidence in their commitment and diligence, urging them to stay abreast of modern technology and trends related to modern warfare.
The PAF graduates comprised 148 General Duty Pilots, 94 Aeronautical Engineers, 104 air defense, and 130 combat support course officers.
Earlier, Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Babar Sidhu received the prime minister, and PM Kakar inspected the formation of the PAF falcons onboard a PAF jeep. The prime minister awarded the prestigious Quaid-e-Azam Banner and pinned badges on the distinguished graduating cadets. Swords of Honour were awarded to Aviation Cadets Ahmed Malik (flying) and Sohaib Saeed (engineering).
The event concluded with a thrilling fly-past of PAF jets, including Mirage, F-7P, JF-17 Thunder, and J-10C.
Pakistan would not like to indulge in any arms race. However, we would continue to enhance our capability in line with the ever evolving character of warfare due to fast changes in technology to deter any aggression.
