ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Monday stressed the importance of international development cooperation to present a unified global response for socio-economic prosperity, mitigation of climate change risks, and galvanizing new drivers of growth for the enduring progress of humanity.
The Pakistani premier virtually participated in the First High-Level Forum on Global Development Initiative organized under the title of “Echo the Development Agenda and Call for Global Action”.
The Forum was held by China International Development Cooperation Agency and participated by Wang Yi, a member of the Politburo of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and Director of the General Office of CPC Foreign Affairs Commission, Foreign Minister Qin Gang and Chairman CIDCA Luo Zhaohui.
In his address, PM Shehbaz Sharif said that Pakistan wanted to expand its cooperation with partner nations to meet the UN Sustainable Development Goals 2030.
Pakistan to Continue Cooperation with China
He lauded China for launching the Global Development Initiative (GDA) to achieve shared goals of sustainable and inclusive global development.
Extending Pakistan’s firm support to the initiative, he said that Pakistan would continue its its expanded and multifaceted cooperation with China for swift implementation of the GDI projects.
