ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s President Dr. Arif Alvi and Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar held a telephonic conversation on Friday expressing shared concerns over the inappropriate treatment of Baloch protestors by the police.

During discussion, both the president and the prime minister agreed that the police response to the protestors should not have been stringent, as stated in a press release from the President House.

The prime minister updated the president on the release of detained protestors, mentioning that they were being released on personal bonds.

Meanwhile, Balochistan Governor Malik Abdul Wali Khan Kakar met with President Alvi, addressing the overall situation in the province and highlighting instances of police mistreatment against Baloch protestors.
