ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif have extended heartfelt felicitations to Anura Kumara Dissanayake on his victory in the presidential elections of Sri Lanka.
The President in his congratulatory message, said that Pakistan attaches great value to its ties with the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka as both countries enjoy excellent cooperation in various areas of common interest.
The President expressed the hope that bilateral ties between the two countries would further strengthen under the leadership of the Sri Lankan President-elect.

President Zardari also wished continued prosperity and good health for the leadership and people of Sri Lanka.
The Prime Minister in a statement posted on social media platform X, wished the President-elect success and said he looks forward to working with him for further strengthening of Pakistan-Sri Lanka ties.
