Pakistan’s President Stresses Export Growth

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s President Dr. Arif Alvi said on Wednesday that Pakistan is focusing on enhancing exports for economic advancement.

He said this during meeting with a delegation from Miracle Saltworks Collective, a US-based salt mining and processing company, in Islamabad.

He highlighted the country’s interest in fostering foreign investment and forging joint ventures across various sectors, aiming for mutually beneficial business partnerships with international firms.

Dr. Alvi underscored the potential for value addition to Pakistani salt through improved processing, packaging, and marketing strategies, noting that high-quality salt could be produced with minimal investment.

The delegation briefed the President on the significant potential of Pakistani salt mines in generating foreign exchange, emphasizing that Pakistan possesses unique, mineral-rich rock salt unmatched elsewhere.

Acknowledging Pakistani salt’s competitive advantage in terms of quality and affordability, the delegation highlighted the opportunity for Pakistan to tap into the world’s largest salt market.

Furthermore, the delegation emphasized that Pakistani salt boasts the highest mineral content globally, suggesting that responsible mining practices, along with enhanced processing and marketing efforts, could elevate its value.

Miracle Saltworks Collective expressed its intent to invest in Pakistan’s salt sector, pledging to utilize advanced technology for mining and processing Pakistani salt, thereby contributing to its value enhancement.
