President Asif Zardari paid tribute to martyrs and reiterated the country’s resolve to respond to terrorist activities with full force.

Terrorist Attack

In the early hours of 16 March, a group of 6 terrorists attacked a security forces’ post in the general area of Mir Ali.

The troops foiled the initial attempt of the attack. Then the terrorists rammed an explosive-laden vehicle into the post, followed by several suicide bombing attacks, which resulted in the collapse of a portion of a building, leading to the martyrdom of 5 soldiers.

The Shuhada included Havildar, Naik Khurshid, Sepoy Nasir, Sepoy Raja, and Sepoy Sajjad.

During the conduct of the ensuing clearance operation, forces led by Lieutenant Colonel Kashif, effectively engaged and sent to hell all 6 terrorists.

However, during an intense exchange of fire, leading his troops from the front, Lieutenant Colonel Syed Kashif Ali and Captain Muhammad Ahmed Badar fought gallantly and embraced Shahadat.
