ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Wednesday expressed hope that the brotherly and friendly nations, Pakistan and Qatar, would continue to deepen their bilateral ties, particularly in investment and trade sectors.
Pakistan’s Prime Minister Vows to Enhance Relations with Qatar
He expressed these remarks during a meeting with the Ambassador of Qatar Qatar Sheikh Saoud bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani in Pakistan. The PM received the envoy for a farewell call, at the PM Office, PM Office Media Wing said.
Shehbaz Sharif, expressing satisfaction at longstanding brotherly ties between Pakistan and Qatar, lauded ambassador Thani’s sterling contribution in further strengthening the relationship between the two nations.
PM Sharif particularly mentioned the recent trip of the delegation from Qatar Investment Authority as a manifestation of Doha’s interest in investing in diverse sectors of the South Asian country’s economy.
The Prime Minister noted the enhanced frequency of high-level engagement between the two sides and cooperation in the sectors of energy, IT, food security, mining and defense.
He wished the outgoing envoy all success in his future assignments and tasks. The Ambassador thanked Pakistani people and the government for their hospitality and warmth, that made during his stay in Pakistan truly extraordinary.
The Ambassador of Qatar arrived in Pakistan in 2020 and would be leaving Islamabad this month upon completion of his diplomatic assignment.
