KARACHI: The Pakistan Navy’s ninth naval combat drill, ‘Shamsheer-e-Bahr’ was held in Karachi on Wednesday. Prime Minister, Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar, attended the war game exercise as the chief guest, accompanied by prominent guests.
Speaking to the audience, the prime minister stressed the value of military training exercises in solidifying the implementation of national security strategies. He praised the Force Commanders’ training exercises, which contribute to Pakistan’s maritime security and defense capabilities.
Prime Minister Kakar also highlighted the growing responsibilities of the Pakistan Navy in ensuring the security of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and Gwadar Port.
The Prime Minister reaffirmed the Government’s commitment to providing all resources available for the Pakistan Navy’s capacity building and expressed confidence in its readiness to confront any threats and challenges.
Significance of Naval War Game
The goals of the war game—which is conducted in a tri-service style with participation from pertinent ministries and divisions as well—were earlier described by the Deputy Chief of Naval Staff (Operations) during the overview.
He emphasized several ideas that were tested during the war exercise and gave suggestions for Pakistan Navy deployment tactics.
Senior officers from the three services and high-ranking government officials, attended the exercise’s debriefing.
