ISLAMABAD: In a landmark public health initiative, the Punjab Government has imposed a complete ban on all tobacco and nicotine products, including cigarettes, vapes, heated tobacco products, and nicotine pouches, in all public and private educational institutions across the province.
This significant step highlights the Punjab Government’s initiative to ensure a safe, tobacco-free learning environment. The initiative was strongly advocated by Chromatic, a leading public health organisation, which proactively engaged with the authorities to push for this much-needed reform.
A Zero Tolerance Policy has been enforced to ensure strict compliance, with clear directives for stern action against any violations. This decisive move will help protect students from the harmful effects of tobacco and nicotine use.
