Pakistan’s Rizwan, Naseem Shah Gains in ICC Test Rankings

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s right-arm fast bowler Naseem Shah and wicketkeeper Mohammad Rizwan have made significant gains in the International Cricket Council (ICC) Test rankings.

Rizwan has ascended to 17th place, while Naseem Shah is now ranked 37th, surpassing Barbadian player Kyle Mayers, who has dropped to 38th.

In recent developments, West Indies fast bowler Jayden Seales achieved his career-best ranking of 13th following a standout performance in the second Test against South Africa, where he was the top wicket-taker with nine dismissals. This remarkable showing propelled him up 13 spots, making him the highest-ranked Test bowler from the Windies.

Additionally, West Indies spinners Jomel Warrican and Gudakesh Motie each climbed two places to 52nd and 64th, respectively. Fast bowler Shamar Joseph also made notable progress, jumping 11 spots to 54th, further strengthening the Windies’ representation in the bowling rankings.

South Africa’s Player of the Match, Wiaan Mulder, soared 27 places to 65th after taking six wickets against the West Indies. Meanwhile, off-spinner Dane Piedt advanced nine spots to 66th due to his contributions in the same series.

Former West Indies captain Jason Holder dropped seven spots to 60th after scoring an unbeaten 54 in a single innings but remains 17th in the all-rounders’ list.

In ODI rankings, Scott Edwards moved up to 26th in the ICC Men’s ODI Batting Rankings following strong performances in the World Cup League 2.

Meanwhile, Aaron Jones of the USA and Vikramajit Singh from the Netherlands made significant gains, rising 11 and nine places in the batting rankings, respectively.
