ISLAMABAD: Danyal Chaudhry, a Member of the National Assembly and Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs, emphasized Pakistan’s vast potential for foreign investment, highlighting the need for dedication and passion to globally showcase its products.

He underscored the government’s initiatives aimed at boosting foreign exchange earnings and economic growth and stressed the critical role of trade and investment counselors in foreign missions in achieving these goals.

During a visit to the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI), Chaudhry met with ICCI President Ahsan Zafar Bakhtawari and discussed the importance of global chambers in fostering trade and business relations.

He commended ICCI’s efforts in exploring business opportunities and attracting foreign investors, stating, “Chambers play a vital role in promoting economic development, and ICCI is doing an excellent job in this regard.”

Bakhtawari updated Chaudhry on ICCI’s initiatives, which include organizing trade delegations, hosting international events, and providing a platform for businesses to connect with foreign investors. He also highlighted ICCI’s successes in facilitating joint ventures and collaborations between Pakistani and foreign companies.

Bakhtawari proposed that commercial counselors’ promotions be tied to their performance in meeting investment targets, suggesting, “This will incentivize them to work harder and attract more foreign investment.” He also recommended establishing business display centers in foreign missions to showcase Pakistani products and enhance export potential.

Additionally, Bakhtawari announced ICCI’s plans to organize events aimed at engaging youth in entrepreneurship and startups, emphasizing the importance of equipping young people with skills to become job creators rather than job seekers.

Former ICCI President and Secretary General of the United Business Group (UBG, FPCCI), Zafar Bakhtawari, highlighted the significance of guiding the younger generation to secure a brighter future.

He remarked, “Our youth is our asset, and with proper guidance, they can play a significant role in Pakistan’s economic growth.” He also praised Chairman of the Prime Minister’s Youth Programme, Rana Mashood Ahmed Khan, for his efforts in empowering Pakistani youth.

The meeting was attended by Ameer Hamza, Faizan Shahzad, Zulqurnain Abbasi, Zia Chaudhry, Waseem Chaudhry, and other notable individuals.
