RAWALPINDI: Pakistan’s security forces have killed 15 terrorists during an intelligence-based operation in the Zhob district of southwestern Balochistan province, a military statement said on Tuesday.
According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the security forces conducted an intelligence-based operation in the Sambaza area of Zhob.
The statement said that security forces targeted a terrorist hideout, and during the intense exchange of fire, the troops effectively killed 15 terrorists. A significant cache of weapons, ammunition, and explosives was also recovered from the killed terrorists.
“During intense exchange of fire, Sepoy Arifur Rehman, having fought gallantly, paid the ultimate sacrifice and embraced Shahadat,” ISPR said.
Following the operation, a sanitization drive is being carried out to ensure the area is clear of any remaining terrorists.
The ISPR said the security forces of Pakistan, in step with the nation, remain determined to wipe out the menace of terrorism from the country and the sacrifices of our brave soldiers further strengthen our resolve.
President, PM praise security forces for successful operation
President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif have commended the security forces for carrying out a successful operation against terrorists in Zhob.
In a statement, the President paid glowing tribute to the Sepoy Arif-ur-Rehman, who embraced martyrdom in the operation. He prayed for him and patience for his family.
He expressed the determination to continue operations until the complete elimination of the menace of terrorism. The president said the entire nation stands alongside the security forces in the war against terrorism.
Meanwhile, the Prime Minister, in his statement, paid homage to Sepoy Arifur Rehman for bravely fighting the terrorists during the operation. Shehbaz Sharif expressed his resolve to continue the war against the scourge of terrorism till its elimination.
It may be recalled that Pakistan’s security forces killed two terrorists on Monday during an intelligence-based operation in the Kolachi area of Dera Ismail Khan district.
On Saturday, six soldiers were martyred and 22 terrorists were eliminated in engagements in three districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
