Pakistan’s Security Forces Kill Eleven Terrorists in Lakki Marwat: ISPR

RAWALPINDI: Eleven terrorists have been killed in an Intelligence-Based-Operation (IBO) conducted by Pakistan’s security forces in the Lakki Marwat district of Northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, the military’s media wing said on Tuesday.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the security forces while responding to the recent Improvised Explosive Device explosion that claimed the lives of seven brave soldiers including Captain Muhammad Faraz Ilyas on the night of 10/11 June 2024, conducted an intelligence-based operation in Lakki Marwat District to bring the perpetrators of the heinous act to justice.

It said that during the operation, army troops effectively engaged the terrorists’ location, as a result of which eleven terrorists were neutralized and killed while multiple terrorist hideouts were also busted.

“Sanitization operation is being carried out to eliminate any other terrorist found in the area as the security forces are determined to wipe out the menace of terrorism from the country,” the ISPR said.

Earlier,  Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Monday attended the funeral prayer of Shaheed Captain Faraz Ilyas. He also met with the parents of Shaheed captain and expressed deep condolences.

Meanwhile, the military’s media wing said on Monday that the funeral prayers of seven security officials, including an army captain, who were martyred in an improvised explosive device (IED) blast in Lakki Marwat on Sunday, were offered in Bannu.

According to ISPR, the Peshawar Corps Commander, senior officers and soldiers of the Pakistan Army, and local people attended the funeral prayers of the martyrs.
