SINGAPORE: Pakistan’s Shahzaib Rind has won the title of World Karate Combat Light Heavyweight Champion in Singapore. This victory marks a significant milestone, as Shahzaib Rind becomes the first athlete from Pakistan to win a world championship in martial arts.

Hailing from Balochistan, Shahzaib Rind faced off against Brazilian fighter Luiz Victor Rocha in a thrilling final match that showcased his remarkable skills and determination. The bout drew significant attention, with spectators captivated by Rind’s fierce spirit in the ring.

Following his victory, Shahzaib Rind took to social media to express his emotions. In a heartfelt post on Facebook, he said, “I am proud to be the first World Champion from Pakistan in Martial Arts. History has been made! It has been a long and challenging journey, but we did it.”

Shahzaib Rind extended his gratitude to everyone who supported him throughout his journey, stating, “It means the world to me.” He particularly acknowledged the key role of his coach, praising him for honing his skills and for his unwavering belief in Rind’s potential. “You are not just a coach but a brother and mentor. Thank you for being my coach. I am honored to have you by my side,” Shahzaib Rind expressed.

Pakistan’s High Commissioner to Singapore, Rabia Shafiq, lauded Rind for bringing pride to the nation. In a statement, she said, “Shahzaib Rind’s achievement is not just a personal victory but a proud moment for all of Pakistan. His dedication and hard work serve as an inspiration to many young athletes in our country.”
