ISLAMABAD: The Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan has alerted students and their parents to ensure that the universities have valid no-objection certificates (NOC) to offer admissions to MPhil/MS and PhD programmes.

The HEC Pakistan has made it mandatory since November 7, 2013, for all universities/higher education institutions (HEIs) to get NOCs from the regulatory body before offering MS/MPhil or equivalent and a PhD programmes.

The HEC has advised the students to visit its website to get NOCs issued to universities and affiliated colleges to offer MS/MPhil/PhD programmes.

“Parents and all prospective students are advised only to take admissions to PhD and MPhil/MS programmes in universities/degree awarding institutions or their sub-campuses with valid NOCs from HEC,” it said cautioning that it will not recognise or attest to the degrees awarded in violation of HEC guidelines.
