RAMALLAH: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of Palestine has issued a strong condemnation in response to a coordinated and pre-planned attack on Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, involving several countries and their representatives.

The Ministry views this assault as an extension of existing biases and positions, a part of malicious political agendas aimed at undermining the Palestinian cause and the rights of its people. It is seen as a blatant attempt to manipulate the Palestinian political landscape in an unjustified and premeditated manner.

The Ministry’s statement also highlights that this attack has involved the intentional distortion of quotes and statements attributed to President Mahmoud Abbas, made by international researchers and academics. These quotes have been deliberately taken out of context to serve the objectives of certain conspiracy schemes.

Palestine Rejects “Act of Intellectual and Political Terrorism”

The Palestinian Ministry expresses deep surprise at the attempts made by certain countries to associate these quotes with anti-Semitism, using openly hostile language charged with verbal aggression and arrogance. It firmly rejects what it describes as an act of intellectual and political terrorism against the Palestinian people. The Palestinian leadership has consistently condemned the Holocaust, acknowledging it as one of the gravest crimes against humanity.

The Ministry emphasizes that it would have been more appropriate for the parties involved to verify the accuracy or falsehood of the claims made by the party promoting these allegations. They could have done so by reviewing the recordings or officially reaching out to the Palestinian side for clarification before launching aggressive and accusatory actions. Such actions, conducted in an inappropriate language, do not befit the conduct of states and their diplomatic relationships.
