Palestinian Group Islamic Jihad Claims Holding over 30 Israelis Captive

CAIRO: Chief of Palestinian Islamic Jihad group has claimed to hold over than 30 of the Israelis in captivity, Arab media reported on Sunday.

Ziad al-Nakhala said the captives will not be repatriated till all of the Palestinian prisoners languishing in Israeli jails are released.

Israeli fighter jets target houses, agricultural land in Gaza

Meanwhile the Israeli fighter jets renewed shelling operations on Sunday with houses and agricultural lands being targeted in all Gaza regions.

The fighter jets pounded three houses in the town of Beit Hanoun, north Gaza and Shuja’iyya district in the east.

The fighter jets also targeted a house in the Batn Al-Sameen area in the center of Khan Yunis.

In addition, Israeli warplanes targeted Gaza city causing a major damage upon the district, with the gunboats firing hundreds of artillery shells and gun shots towards the coastal zone, as well as eastern borders of the strip.

The fighter jets also bombarded several agricultural lands across Gaza from north to the south.

The continuous Israeli aggression has so far martyred 313 Palestinians while injuring 1990 others.

Humanitarian organizations functioning in Gaza are facing major challenges in delivering aid and medical assistance due to the intensifying conflict.

Amid the crisis, Israel announced on Saturday night its decision to suspend electricity supply to the besieged area. Gaza, home to approximately two million people, has been enduring an Israeli blockade encompassing air, land, and sea routes.
