ISLAMABAD: Paneer Afghani features cubes of paneer marinated in a rich and creamy blend of melon seeds, cashews, poppy seeds, cream, and butter, then grilled to a golden perfection in a tandoor.
Ingredients:
500 gm paneer, cubed
1 Tbsp melon seeds
1 cup cashew nuts
1 Tbsp poppy seeds, soaked for 1 hour
1 cup cream
2 Tbsp butter
2 tsp ground black pepper
5-6 small cardamom pods
Salt to taste
Instructions:
Grind the melon seeds, cashews, poppy seeds, black pepper, and cardamom pods together. Combine the ground mixture with the cream, butter, and salt. Marinate the paneer cubes in this mixture for about an hour. Grill the marinated paneer in a tandoor or electric grill until golden brown and serve hot.
