ISLAMABAD: Dr. Mukhtar Ahmad, Director of the Expanded Program on Immunization (EPI), emphasized the importance of polio vaccination campaigns alongside routine immunization to prevent the virus from resurging.
He urged parents to cooperate with polio teams and called on the media to help convince them.
Speaking to the State news channel, Dr. Ahmad stressed that the ongoing polio eradication campaign in 91 districts until May 3 relies on the support of the people for its success. He emphasized the collective responsibility of scholars, teachers, stakeholders, and civil society members in ensuring the campaign’s success.
Dr. Ahmad commended the efforts of polio workers in going door to door and urged the public to vaccinate their children against polio without falling for fake propaganda against the vaccine.
