PCB Announces Free Entry for Champions One Day Cup Matches

LAHORE: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced that, on the directive of PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi, all Champions One Day Cup matches would be for free form spectators, except for the final four games.

This decision was announced following a meeting chaired by PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi, aimed at reviewing the arrangements for the tournament.

In a meeting held to discuss the logistical and operational aspects of the Champions One Day Cup, PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi was joined by Chief Operating Officer Salman Nasir, Chief Financial Officer Javed Murtaza, Advisor Bilal Afzal, Director Domestic Abdullah Khurram Niazi, and other key officials. The meeting discussed preparations for the tournament, which will take place at Iqbal Stadium in Faisalabad.

Chairman Naqvi highlighted the significance of this decision, stating, “The people of Faisalabad have a deep love for cricket, and for the first time in a long while, top Pakistani players will participate in a major tournament in Faisalabad.”

The PCB Chairman expressed that the decision to offer free entry to the majority of the matches was a gesture to engage the local community and enhance the fan experience.

The announcement means that cricket enthusiasts will have the opportunity to watch all matches of the Champions One Day Cup without any ticket costs, except for the final four games of the tournament.

Mohsin Naqvi said that the Champions One Day Cup not only serves as a platform to showcase emerging talent but also plays a crucial role in strengthening domestic cricket. He stressed the need for the entire team to work diligently to ensure the tournament’s success and to make it a memorable event for fans.
