LAHORE: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Monday announced the pick order for the Pakistan Super League (PSL) season 10 player draft, setting the stage for the selection process ahead of the exciting tournament scheduled for April-May 2025.
Two-time champions Lahore Qalandars will make the first pick in the platinum category, followed by Karachi Kings.
The 2019 champions Quetta Gladiators and Peshawar Zalmi will have the third and fourth picks, respectively.
Last season’s runners-up Multan Sultans will pick fifth, while reigning champions Islamabad United will conclude the first round of the platinum category.
In the second round of the platinum category, the pick sequence will reverse, with Islamabad United making the first pick, followed by Multan Sultans, Peshawar Zalmi, Quetta Gladiators, Karachi Kings, and Lahore Qalandars.
Each franchise will make three picks in the platinum, diamond, and gold categories. In the diamond category, Karachi Kings will have the first pick in the opening round, while Multan Sultans will start the second round, and Islamabad United will make the first pick in the third.
The gold category will see Peshawar Zalmi, Quetta Gladiators, and Multan Sultans taking the first picks in the three respective rounds.
Furthermore, teams will make five picks each in the silver category, two in the emerging category, and four in the supplementary category to complete their squads for the upcoming season.
The PSL 10 player draft is set to take place on January 11, 2025, in Gwadar, Balochistan, marking a significant milestone as the event ventures to the picturesque coastal city.
The PCB has already opened the registration window for overseas players to declare their availability for the draft.
Meanwhile, the processes for player relegations and retentions are underway and will continue until the end of December.
