LAHORE: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has accepted the resignation of white-ball head coach Gary Kirsten and stated that red-ball coach Jason Gillespie will assume the former’s coach responsibilities during the next trip to Australia.
Gillespie, who is Pakistan’s red-ball head coach, will accompany the national team for their next ODI and T20I series against Australia set to start on November 4.
Pakistan is set to play three ODIs as well as T20Is each against Australia which will be followed by a series against Zimbabwe with the same number of matches.
Jason Gillespie’s new responsibility comes following Kirsten tendered resignation after differences emerged between him and the board on different matters.
Earlier, local media reported that Gary Kirsten, head coach of Pakistan’s white ball cricket team, has tendered resignation. According to the media reports, the development took place after the news of disagreements between Gary Kirsten and the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) over selection of team, central contracts, and other operational matters.
