LAHORE: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has appointed Tony Hemming as the new head curator for a period of two-year.
Hemming, hailing from Western Australia, will commence his duties in Lahore on July 18 (Wednesday). His immediate responsibilities include preparing pitches for the upcoming five ICC World Test Championship matches against Bangladesh (two matches scheduled for August/September) and England (three matches scheduled for October).
Furthermore, Hemming will be overseeing pitch preparations for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, which Pakistan is set to host from February 19 to March 9.
With nearly forty years of experience, Hemming is widely respected in his field. He has held prominent roles at renowned cricket venues across Australia, including Melbourne, Perth, and Tasmania, and has also contributed his expertise in several Asian countries.

It is pertinent to mention here that from 2007 to 2017, he served as the ICC’s Head Curator in Dubai, overseeing pitch preparations at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium, a venue which served as one of Pakistan’s home grounds from 2009 to 2019.
