PCB Chairman Reviews Upgradation Work of Gaddafi Stadium

LAHORE: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi inspected the ongoing renovation work at Gaddafi Stadium, where nearly 50% of the upgrade has been completed.

The highly anticipated match between Pakistan and India is scheduled to take place at Gaddafi Stadium on March 1, making these improvements crucial.

During his visit, Naqvi noted the accelerated progress in the enclosure renovations and flooring of the main building, with floor work nearing completion. He held a meeting at the FWO camp office to review project designs and assess the progress presented by the FWO Project Director.

Naqvi emphasized the need for ample parking and enhancements to the stadium’s external appearance. He stressed the importance of completing the renovations in time for the Champions Trophy, highlighting that Gaddafi Stadium is being upgraded to meet international standards with better facilities for players and spectators.

The meeting included PCB officials such as the director of infrastructure, director of domestic cricket, senior general manager of infrastructure, along with representatives from FWO and NESPAK.

On October 22, the International Cricket Council (ICC) expressed satisfaction with Pakistan’s preparations for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, which will be held in Karachi, Lahore, and Rawalpindi from February 19 to March 9, 2025.

During a recent meeting in Dubai, PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi provided a comprehensive progress report on the renovations and infrastructure upgrades at the three selected stadiums.

He also invited the ICC to visit Pakistan to review the renovations and arrangements in person, which could help build confidence in the country’s ability to host a successful event.
