LAHORE: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi has taken a significant decision to delegate the affairs related to cricket to former skipper Waqar Younis. As per media reports, Mohsin Naqvi will continue to look after the administrative affairs of the board. A local television reported that in this connection the former cricketer will be given a high position in the PCB.
A single person will be responsible for all decisions linked to cricket, including international and domestic affairs, selection committee affairs, and issuing No Objection Certificates (NOCs) to players, the television added. An official announcement in this connection is expected soon.
The development comes as PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi hinted significant changes in the selection committee, after the national team’s poor performance in the recently ended T20 World Cup.
